Our client, a leading provider of capital markets services, is looking for a highly motivated full-time Institutional licensed sales and research associate in Toronto. This position will be at the junior to mid level depending on skill set and experience. The associate is primarily responsible for client service by managing existing relationships, building new relationships through strategic initiatives, and ensuring the process is handled with care and professionalism.  This associate will have the opportunity to work with the entire sales, research and trading team. 

 

The successful candidate will possess the highest level of customer service skills, professionalism, attention to detail, as well as the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must be knowledgeable in capital markets and financial analysis, and all equity classes in the Canadian market.

 

The role offers candidates an opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on work experience that is focused on the financial markets. In Canada, we are primarily organized into industry teams of Energy & Natural Resources, Technology, Consumer, Diversified Industries, and Mining. The role of sales associate is challenging, fun and fast-paced. It requires dedication and passion for the financial industry. 

 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and current clients with a focus on service

 

Ensure that client queries are responded to in a prompt and polite manner and maintain the relations with the client and the reputation of the firm

 

Develop and implement strategies to increase the firm network, and scope of service for existing and potential clients

 

Maintain up-to-date client files and information on the appropriate systems

 

Assist in various marketing efforts such as creating presentations, webinars, and educational materials

 

Adhere to all regulatory policies by remaining up to date with all regulatory rules and activities as they relate to transactions and ensuring that client interactions are accurately documented

 


Qualifications:

 

A high regard for detail and accuracy are essential

 

A solid work ethic

 

2-5 years of work experience in the Securities Industry, preferably on an institutional or retail desk

 

Undergraduate degree with a background in business, finance or economics preferred

 

Completion of CSC and CPH and licensing with IIROC required

 

Knowledge of financial services industry products and services

 

Strong client service with clear written and verbal communication skills and detail oriented

 

Good organization and administrative capabilities

 

Familiar with back office procedures and front office administration
