We are currently seeking a Digital Construction Student for our Business Technology Department to work in our Toronto district. The successful candidates will be exposed to many information technology functions during their work term. We are looking for students available for 8 months beginning in September 2022. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with implementing technology like Job Site InsightsTM  - PCL’s internally built IoT sensor monitoring platform; CopperTree Analytics; Digital Twins - on construction sites
  • Help maintain and manage Internet of Things (IoT) devices
  • Provide support, troubleshoot, and gather feedback for newly implemented technology within construction sites
  • Interact with project managers, business area stakeholders and department managers
  • Support the Digital Construction team in providing business process, application requirements definition, and documentation for a given project 
  • Use of BI type dashboards to visualize business related data
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date system documentation
  • Attending meetings and shadowing of the Technology Solutions team members
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
     

Qualifications

  • Strong interest in technology
  • Construction knowledge is an asset
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products (i.e. Office 365, Power BI, Azure, etc. is an asset)
  • Ability to learn and apply troubleshooting methods 
  • Access to a  reliable means of transportation
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical end users
  • Ability to share knowledge and work in a strong team-oriented environment
  • Excellent Communication / Writing Skills
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving
  • Skills in computer programming is preferable
  • Strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to details
