TransEd Operations & Maintenance General Partnership (OMGP) is a General Partnership between Alstom Transport Canada, Bechtel, and EllisDon. TransEd OMGP has been awarded a long-term contract to operate and maintain the Valley Line - Southeast. The new light rail transit system was constructed in Edmonton and opened for service in the summer of 2023. The OMGP team is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the Valley Line light rail vehicles, passenger stations/stops, trackwork, alignment, traction power supply and distribution system, other communication systems, and the Gerry Wright Operation and Maintenance Facility.

You as a Finance Manager, TransED OMGP will: 

  • Be responsible for establishing and managing business strategies, optimizing administrative processes, and maintaining excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholder of the TransED OMGP.
  • Develop and implement business strategies, budgets, and forecasts.

  • Oversee financial reporting, analysis, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

  • Manage financial risk, cash flow, and financial modeling.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure financial goals align with the organization's objectives.

  • Coordinate and lead the annual financial audit process, working closely with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit.

  • Address any audit findings and implement corrective actions as necessary to improve financial controls and reporting processes.

  • Establish and maintain procurement policies and processes.

  • Oversee vendor selection, negotiations, and contracts.

  • Ensure cost-effectiveness and quality in procurement decisions.

Is this the right role for you?

  • You have a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
  • You have proven experience in setting up and leading finance and administrative functions in new organizations.
  • You have strong financial acumen with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • You have experience in procurement processes, vendor management, and contract negotiations.
  • You have excellent leadership and team-building skills with a collaborative and inclusive approach.
  • You have the ability to manage tight timelines and deliver results under pressure.
  • You have exceptional communication and presentation skills to engage effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • You must be able to work on site daily.
