Ontario Learning Development Foundation (OLDF) is looking for a Graphic Designer. The Graphic Designer is responsible for visualizing and creating graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts and photos. You will be shaping the visual aspects of our websites, publications, and social media. Your graphics should inspire the target audience by capturing the attention of those who see them and communicating the right message. A good Graphic Designer must have a natural eye for design and colour, and design imaginative content that effectively resonates with the audience.
 
 
OLDF is a registered charity in Canada that performs training and educational services to youths, children, new immigrants, and seniors. We are a non-profit organization with the mission to transform our communities through integrated educational and community-response empowerment initiatives for children, youth, new immigrants and their families.
 
 
 Roles/Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize visuals based on design requirements
  • Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
  • Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using software (Canva, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic
  • Test graphics across various media – including social media accounts and publications
  • Amend designs after feedback
  • Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand by reviewing the finalized materials to be sure there are no errors
  • Grow brand awareness among all our social media platforms and publications
  • Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as needed
 
Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated with a degree or diploma in Marketing, Creative Advertising, Communications, or Graphic Design/Media
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English 
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to create graphics using software programs such as Canva, Photoshop, etc.
  • An understanding of social communities and cultural differences, as well as the ability to communicate with a wide variety of audience members
  • Strong working knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of social media best practices
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and details
  • Graphic design experience is an asset
 
Requirements:
  • Flexible hours, approx. 20-30 hours/week
  • Rate: $17.20/hour
  • Must be available for until August 30, 2025

Since this is a funded position by Canada Summer Job grants, all applicants must be a youth (citizen, PR or conventional refugee) between 15 -30 years of age to qualify.
