Job Description

Under the direction/supervision of the clinical team, you will perform direct patient services tasks.

Accountabilities:

  • Assisting with patient transfer/care, patient temperatures, weighing and utilizing aseptic techniques
  • Accommodation and support services responsibilities including:
    • Comprehensive cleaning, preparation and disinfection of dialysis machines
    • preparation of dialysis prepackages
    • Waste removal, linen and restock of supplies
    • Transporting equipment and supplies with solution and maintenance of a safe environment

Qualifications

  • Registered with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA)
  • Personal Support Worker certificate from a recognized Canadian community college
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques
  • Current CPR
  • Recent related experience with chronically ill patients including knowledge of the complex needs of the dialysis patient
  • Must have recent experience in dialysis machine preparation including priming and disinfecting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexibility to meet unit needs
  • Ability to work well with team members
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Meditech system

  • Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record required
  • Ability to travel between and work at all Osler sites as required

Additional Information

Hours:  Currently days/evenings 8 & 12 hours including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

Salary:  
Minimum:  $30.17 per hour
Maximum: $31.38 per hour
