The Role
We are looking for an experienced Talent Partner to join our team! As part of the Talent@DHX team, this role will work with the Halifax studio department heads, producers and key personnel to maintain and develop internal and external employee relations, create and implement recruitment strategies, and lead HR driven programs and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Provide practical guidance and strategic support on day-to-day employee relations issues, recruitment, changes management, organizational development, compensation, performance management and other related initiatives
- Further develop and regularly assess HR studio-based HR strategy;
- Administering and communicating and answering questions around employee benefits. Enrolling new employees for company benefits, including medical, dental, vision, prescription drugs, LTD, life insurance and AD&D and Group retirement plan.
- Administration of all HR programs such as recruitment, HRIS database, benefits and health & safety;
- Work closely with Producers to indentify recruitment needs and ensure we attract, develop and inspire top talent in the industry;
- Interpret and develop policies as needed;
- Continuously work to build close relationships with animation schools across Canada;
- Full-cycle recruitment for production hiring needs (placing ads, candidate screening, providing guidance to managers on salary negotiations and contract administration);
- Conduct employee orientations;
- Assess training needs and coordinate in-house training as needed;
- The Talent Partner is also responsible for HR operations in the studio, generalist activities, and maybe assigned some HR projects depending on need.
Critical Competencies
- A minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience as an HR advisor, HR Generalist, or Business Partner;
- Post secondary education in Human Resources and/or Business, with a CHRP designation or work towards it preferred;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, managing several projects simultaneously and an affinity for fast-paced environments;
- Demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities with tight deadlines;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Knowledge of employment legislation;
- Proven conflict management and resolution skills with the ability to handle confidential matters with discretion;
Preferred Competencies
- Demonstrated knowledge of HRIS systems, Ultipro would be an asset;
- Computer Skills: Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
