Applications are now being accepted for a forward-thinking Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) for a two-year term contract to support our evolving organization. The successful candidate must have a proven track record in labour relations and experience in project operationalization and system implementation.

Your key areas of responsibility are as follows:

  • Providing expert guidance to management and our partners on all labour relations matters.
  • Acting as a liaison with union representatives and fostering productive relationships.
  • Interpreting collective agreements and labor relations legislation to support consistent policies and practices.
  • Being the primary Human Resources advisor and leading human resources operations support for new system implementations, which may include human resources, finance, and claims.
  • Collaborating with project teams, change teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless system integration and user adoption.
  • Participating in user acceptance testing and facilitation of system user training, if required.
  • Promoting a people first strategy while consulting, advising and coaching leaders and employees as it relates to people management functions.
  • Leading Human Resources projects and/or initiatives, including the identification of process improvement opportunities.
  • Assisting in talent acquisition activities, annual workforce planning and employee lifecycle management.
  • Enhancing the leader and employee experience in alignment with Human Resources strategies and initiatives.
  • Participating and contributing in assigned projects as a Human Resources representative.

You, as a successful candidate, possess:

  • An Undergraduate or a University degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Must have a minimum of three to five years of progressive experience in human resources as an HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, or HR Consultant/Advisor/Associate.
  • Must have proven experience in labour relations.
  • Must have proven experience in supporting medium to large scale system implementation projects.
  • Knowledge of HR best practices and approaches as well as applicable provincial employment standards and regulations.
  • Knowledge of labour market and HR Tools, Competency-Based Management (CBM), Job Evaluation Methodology, Human Rights, Employment Standards, Public Service Labour Relations Act, are required.
  • Public sector human resources experience is preferred.
  • CPHR (Chartered Professional Human Resources) designation is considered an asset.

Written and spoken competence in English is required, spoken competence in French is considered an asset.

Pay Scale $86,797.90 to $102,115.18

Hours of work are those required to perform the assigned tasks but shall not be less than 35 hours per week.

Benefits include vacation, sick time and the New Brunswick Public Service Pension Plan.

Your primary workspace will be your in-home office with the occasional expectation of in-person meetings. For that reason, working from outside the province or country is not permissible.

WorkSafeNB

Organization

WorkSafeNB administers no-fault workplace accident and disability insurance for employers and their workers, funded solely through assessments on employers. All employers having three or more workers are obligated to obtain compensation coverage.

WorkSafeNB is committed to preventing workplace injuries and illness through education and enforcement of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

WorkSafeNB is administered by a board of directors consisting of the chairperson, a vice-chairperson, the president and CEO (non-voting member), the chairperson of the Appeals Tribunal (non-voting member), five members representing workers, and five members representing employers. Other than the president & CEO and the chairperson of the Appeals Tribunal, members of the board of directors serve part-time.

WorkSafeNB's mandate is to:

  • Promote the creation of a workplace safety culture in which all employees and employers view all occupational diseases and accidents as being preventable.
  • Promote an understanding, acceptance, and compliance with all legislation for which WorkSafeNB is responsible, including the enforcement of the OHS Act and regulations.
  • Provide timely compensation benefits, medical aid, rehabilitation, and safe return-to-work services to injured workers.
  • Provide sustainable insurance and insurance-related services to the employer community.
  • Represent stakeholders and provide recommendations and advice to government with respect to legislation, and publish such reports, studies, and recommendations WorkSafeNB considers advisable.

Assessments are affected by the level of activities in the province's workplaces, as are the resulting claims. There are also substantial assets that ensure WorkSafeNB will be able to provide the ongoing benefits promised to injured workers through a wage loss recovery insurance system. These funds are invested in the financial markets and investment returns are subject to the ups and downs of the marketplace.
