What we're looking for
As a Lead Product Designer, you'll join a cross-functional team helping travellers cross borders. sherpa° is looking for a designer who cares deeply about understanding users (external and internal) to create experiences that drive business outcomes. You have a passion to co-create with users, are divergent with solution approaches, and are curious to absorb feedback and data to inform the next iteration. You enjoy working directly with product management, engineering, and design research members to work our way towards delivering exceptional user experiences.
You’ll be working on creating the most delightful visa application experience for as many travellers as possible. You’ll focus on truly customer-centric design thinking and a demonstrable expertise in visualizing both digital and physical touchpoint solutions that support traveller’s journey. You’ll have passion for collaborating closely with partners (airlines, travel agents etc) and leaders across the organization to refine our thinking and best serve our customers.
Your work will be seen by millions of travellers a month from 193 countries. You will make travel simpler for passengers of national carriers like American Airlines, Air Canada, British Airways and more. It's an exciting design challenge.
What you can expect
Work closely with product managers, engineers and customer teams to improve the traveller's user experience — working in sprints or related exercises to work through synthesizing insights and solution iterations.
Demonstrate attention to detail in every aspect and a strong capacity for both logical and creative thinking. You are also comfortable dealing with ambiguous requirements that require creative investigation.
Executing detailed and thorough wireframes and IA accounting for edge cases and technical constraints, grasp and distill highly complex issues and translate them into clean, focused, understandable solutions.
Participate in various stages of the Design Lifecycle: from ideation to research, prototyping, validation, and design.
Partner with Product Managers to rapidly validate concepts prior to development.
You are a good fit if you
Have 5-8+ years of experience working in a product design role
Proven expertise in multiple areas of product design, including research, IA, visual, prototyping, etc.
Experience with A/B testing
Have a keen eye for usability principles and creating great user experiences
Demonstrated experience working on projects from discovery through to shipping/iteration
You are a driver who takes ownership of ensuring a rewarding experience is being delivered to our users
Present one or more case studies that showcase your impact on the product
Expected skills
Demonstrate basic design system principles and practices
Proficient in design tools such as Figma
Prototyping for desktop and mobile experiences
Clear, compelling presentation and communication style

The starting base pay will depend on various factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
