 Key position functions:

• Process payroll and timekeeping activities and associated duties in an accurate and timely manner
• Maintain expert knowledge of payroll system and prevailing payroll/legislative practices
• Meet payroll processing deadlines by ensuring that internal processes are effective and efficient
• Input data and run processing activities on regular payroll cycle
• Maintain and process accurate records with respect to time and attendance through time keeping system
• Maintain a service oriented approach to working with management, colleagues and when responding to employee inquiries
• Ensure that all payroll processing transactions are accurate and are consistent with Company guidelines and legislative requirements
• Identify errors and provide solutions/recommendations as required
• Liaise with third party payroll vendor(s) regarding payroll and reporting delivery
• Complete project work as assigned

Preferred candidates will possess a combination of the following:

• Minimum of 5 years payroll administration experience required

• High School Diploma – additional education and Canadian Payroll Association accreditation are assets

• Strong working knowledge of standard payroll concepts, practices and procedures
• Familiarity with hourly and salaried payroll practices, as well as third party payroll systems (UKG experience is an asset)
• Excellent attention to detail & accuracy
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Good judgment and decision making skills
• Self motivated and able to work under general supervision
• Customer focused
• Proficient with Microsoft applications - Word, Excel, Outlook and payroll software
