  • Day-to-day oversight of the payroll function and the team.
  • Responsible for payroll accuracy and timeliness
  • Ensure 100% compliance with existing internal controls
  • Responsible for ensuring that all payroll processing controls, and narrative is kept up to date and accurate
  • Prepare payroll scorecard on key payroll metrics
  • Maintain good working relationships with internal and external business partners
  • Process timely and accurate garnishments
  • Review and approve reconciliations of payroll related balance sheet accounts and related journal entries
  • Continuously identify and develop solutions for process efficiency improvements to improve productivity
  • Ensuring compliance with all federal, state and provincial laws, ensure accurately and timely payroll federal and state related government and agency reporting including.
  • Manage payroll related audits


Requirements

  • Minimum 5-7 years of managing a Canadian multi-province payroll department. Multi provincial payroll will be highly regarded.
  • Working knowledge of payroll software platforms like Ceridian Day-force, ADP Workforce, Sage 50 etc.
  • Working knowledge of Kronos/Oracle R12 System for HR, Time / Labor and General Ledger
  • Excellent problem solving / judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confidence and ability to work independently with little supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Working experience of payroll tax at the federal, state and local levels
  • Excellent organization skills, ability to handle multiple priorities within deadlines is required
  • PCP/CPM will be considered an asset.
