The leading AI-powered automation platform transforming revenue teams is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design and scale the mission-critical systems powering automation for customers like Zscaler, Ramp, and 1Password. You’ll take ownership of key architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and build high-availability infrastructure capable of processing millions of sales interactions — redefining how revenue teams operate. This is a hybrid position (up to 4 days a week in office) in the Vancouver area.
End-to-End Ownership: Help build foundational systems; define architecture, implement best practices, ensure scale and reliability, maintain and iterate.
High-Velocity, High-Quality: Hands-on to produce clean maintainable code which serves as an example for others. Quick code review life cycle with multiple deployments done per day.
Proactive Leadership: Constantly looking for ways to improve processes and tech. Pushing forward initiatives which make the team better.
Culture of Growth: Mentoring other engineers and educating on best practices. Technical guidance through CRs, Design reviews and pairing.
Driven Decision-Making: Making the right decisions on balancing speed and technical integrity. Quickly evaluating trade-offs and getting buy-in from others. Avoid over engineering. Offer solutions not problems.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Collaborate and work with front end engineers, customer success, and product leaders to deliver key features and delight the customers.
Web-application Engineering Experience: 5+ years in software engineering with at least 3 of those years working with SaaS and backend web-application development.
Architectural Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in modern software development practices, including architecture and infrastructure, with a proven track record of building and scaling complex, high-availability systems. Familiarity with OpenAI technologies is also preferred.
Leading Implementations: Skilled in building end-to-end web applications, including experience with full-stack development technologies and APIs. Node.js, GCP and GraphQL are preferred, but similar alternatives are also sufficient. Database experience is also expected.
Technical Leadership: Proven track record of leading development teams and mentoring peers.
Customer Empathy: You’ll be asked to take the lead on defining customer requirements and how to delight customers. You’ll be presented high-level requirements and then do discovery to find the best solution.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellence in tackling and resolving complex technical issues, ensuring smooth and efficient project delivery.
