If this sounds like the place where you would like to grow your career, we are currently seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist for a temporary 18-month maternity leave coverage position. The successful candidate will be an experienced generalist who will support the creation and implementation of HR programs, including onboarding and recruitment.Β The HR team is excited to be building a full range of HR programs aimed at strengthening our workplace culture as we continue to grow.Β Β This position reports to the Manager Human Resources and may be based out of any of our Vancouver Island locations, which includes Victoria, Nanaimo, Courtenay or Campbell River.
What you will be doing:
- Collaborates within the Human Resources Department to participate in the research, creation and implementation of HR programs, policy and procedure;
- Supports talent acquisition as required by managing full cycle recruitment for assigned vacancies;
- Works with new hires and managers during onboarding, working to strengthen the way we deliver the onboarding and orientation processes;
- Responds to employee and manager questions about HR programs and procedures; and provide managers with guidance in handling employee relations issues;
- Conducts investigations when required and recommends appropriate actions based on findings;
- Supports employees and managers through their benefits and leave management needs;
- Ensures accurate and timely information updates in Human Resources platforms and provides reports as required;
- Other tasks as assigned.
What you need to bring:
- 5 - 8 years experience as a Human Resources generalist, with expertise in Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, Workforce Planning, Talent Management, Compensation and HR Systems;
- Experienced in full-cycle recruitment and candidate search with the ability to bring creative solutions to advance our approach to talent acquisition;
- Solid understanding of Employment Standards, Human Rights and other Human Resources related legislation;
- Strong computer skills including intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office applications;
- Previous experience implementing and working with an HR Information System is an asset, particularly experience working with UKG (Ultipro/Kronos);
- A self-motivated professional with a high level of initiative, a sense of urgency, and the proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Proven ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion and tact;
- Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to follow through and meet deadlines;
- Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels of the organization;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a comfort level speaking in front of others;
- Ability to respond to issues and enquiries in a timely and professional manner; with a focus on finding solutions to challenges;
