Curriculum Design
- Developing a curriculum or course outline that includes learning objectives, content structure, and a clear sequence of topics.
- Producing a standardized training template that can be easily reproduced and scaled to meet changing business needs.
- Mapping out the scope and sequence of technical skills or knowledge to be covered.
Content Development
- Creating learning materials such as user/process guides, quick references, job aids, micro-learning, e-learning modules, virtual instructor-led training, course evaluation, and feedback analysis.
- Adapting technical content into a format suitable for teaching, including translating complex technical jargon into more understandable language.
- Utilizing Microsoft Suite products (Word, PowerPoint) as well as content authoring software (i.e.: Articulate RISE), video editing software, and graphic design platforms (i.e.: Canva) to produce high-quality, learner-centered materials.
Instructional Strategies
- Selecting and implementing appropriate instructional methods, techniques, and technologies to deliver content effectively.
- Employing active learning strategies, problem-solving scenarios, and hands-on exercises to engage learners.
- Developing strategies to prepare and support business trainers.
Assessment and Evaluation
- Designing formative and summative assessments, quizzes, and evaluations to measure learner understanding and track progress.
- Analyzing assessment results to assess the effectiveness of the learning materials and make improvements as necessary.
Learning Management System (LMS)
- Utilizing learning management systems to deliver and track course content.
- Managing user access, tracking progress, and generating reports to monitor learner performance.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to create customizable learning experiences for different audiences in the LMS.
Multimedia
- Editing and enhancing multimedia components to fit instructional design requirements.
Accessibility and Inclusivity
- Ensuring that learning materials and platforms are accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities.
- Adhering to relevant accessibility standards and guidelines.
Quality Assurance
- Reviewing and testing learning materials for accuracy, functionality, and user-friendliness.
- Conducting quality checks to ensure that content is error-free and aligns with the intended objectives.
User Support and Training
- Providing technical support and assistance to learners who encounter issues or have questions during the learning process.
- Conducting training sessions or orientations for learners to become familiar with the learning platform.
Content Updates and Maintenance
- Regularly updating and maintaining learning materials to reflect changes in technology or industry standards.
- Monitoring feedback and addressing user concerns or suggestions for improvement.
Project Management
- Managing instructional design projects, including timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Coordinating with subject matter experts and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of learning materials.
Documentation
- Creating documentation for instructional materials, including user guides, technical documentation, and instructional design manuals and playbooks that aligns with the L&D document management strategy.
- Managing and updating documentation in our content management systems.
- Ensuring quality, consistency, and standardization in all training documentation.
Continuous Learning
- Staying current with advancements in technology and instructional design best practices.
- Attending workshops, conferences, and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
Collaboration
- Collaborating closely with fellow Instructional Designers as well as colleagues in Operational Training. to create effective learning experiences.
- Working with SMEs, cross functional teams, business trainers and all stakeholders to design and develop e-learning courseware, performance support aids, online tutorials, software user guides, certification curricula and other training materials.
- Documenting training material impacts, technical support go-to person, process for gathering needed information for content development, and process for aligning with SMEs prior to training.
