The Role

The Associate Director of Marketing and Communications will lead the strategic development, planning, and tactical execution of marketing initiatives to drive the growth of MCAP’s residential origination brands: MCAP, RMG, MERIX, Eclipse, and NPX. In addition, this role will oversee the Marketing Events manager who is responsible for managing and executing all internal and external events across all MCAP brands and lines of business.

This leadership role is critical in aligning marketing strategies with business objectives across key lines of business and driving brand excellence and customer engagement. The Associate Director will manage and mentor a team of three direct reports, oversee major campaigns and events, and work collaboratively with business units to ensure the effective delivery of marketing initiatives. The role requires a combination of strategic oversight and hands-on execution, with a strong focus on delivering measurable results and fostering a culture of innovation.

Marketing Campaigns Key Projects

  • Lead and oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of key sales campaigns, including high-profile events such as the MCAP Summit, MERIX Status trips, and annual product launches.
  • Develop and implement annual campaign plans, including detailed briefs, content calendars, and tactical schedules, ensuring alignment with business objectives and brand messaging.
  • Collaborate closely with the VP of Marketing to execute marketing strategies and key initiatives, translating strategic direction into actionable plans and overseeing their execution from start to finish.
  • Ensure campaigns meet business objectives, drive customer engagement, and generate valuable data and insights for lead generation and business development.
  • Manage cross-functional teams and resources, including internal and external partners, to ensure timely delivery of campaign materials, assets, and analytics.
  • Direct the collection and analysis of campaign performance data, ensuring a data-driven approach to decision-making and continuous improvement of campaign outcomes.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to optimize marketing initiatives, leveraging best practices and ensuring effective reporting and communication of campaign results.

Oversight and Management of MCAP Events

  • Lead and oversee the Event Marketing Manager in planning and executing both internal and external events, ensuring seamless coordination across all lines of business and brands.
  • Provide strategic guidance on event proposals, ensuring they align with company objectives, branding, and target audiences.
  • Oversee event logistics, including venue selection, budgeting, guest management, and promotional activities, ensuring all events are executed within budget and on schedule.
  • Ensure post-event evaluation and follow-up tasks are completed, including feedback collection, reporting, and recommendations for future improvements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all event-related matters, ensuring all events support brand goals and business objectives.

Online Store, Swag & Promo

  • Oversee the Corporate Swag Program and Online Swag Store, ensuring the efficient management of inventory, fulfillment, and alignment with brand standards.
  • Oversee the Broker Swag Recognition Program, coordinating gifting initiatives that enhance partner engagement and loyalty.

Internal and External Communications

  • Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality communications that adhere to brand guidelines, positioning MCAP’s residential origination brands effectively across all channels.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to maintain a positive user experience across all MCAP properties, including ensuring that branding, design, and messaging align with overall marketing strategy

Relationship Management and General Support

  • Serve as the key marketing liaison for MCAP’s residential origination brands, building and nurturing relationships with business leaders to ensure marketing initiatives align with broader business goals.
  • Provide ongoing strategic marketing support and counsel to ensure alignment with business needs and objectives, strengthening collaboration with sales leadership teams.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing processes, ensuring the efficient flow of work across teams and the successful execution of cross-functional initiatives.
  • Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure continuity and consistency in key processes and workflows.

Product Launches & Promotions

  • Lead the planning and execution of product launches and national sales promotions, aligning marketing initiatives with business objectives to maximize impact.
  • Work closely with sales teams to ensure full alignment on promotional strategies, marketing materials, and customer communications.

Marketing Processes and Standards

  • Develop and implement marketing processes that enhance efficiency and ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Continuously assess and refine marketing standards and practices to drive operational excellence and improve overall marketing effectiveness.

Budgeting & Financial Management

  • Ensure cost-efficient use of marketing resources across all initiatives, optimizing spending to deliver maximum ROI for each campaign and project.
  • Monitor and manage marketing budgets, ensuring adherence to budget limits and contributing to annual budget planning.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline costs and improve efficiency in marketing operations.

Lead and Manage Staff

  • Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement within the marketing and communications team.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor three direct reports, establishing clear performance standards and providing ongoing feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
  • Promote collaboration and innovation across teams, ensuring alignment with MCAP’s overall objectives and strategic vision.
  • Ensure the team is adequately resourced and equipped to meet business goals, proactively addressing any gaps in skills or capacity.
  • Champion MCAP’s values, mission, and vision both internally and externally, acting as a role model for the company culture.

What You Bring To The Team 

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a marketing or communications role
  • Solid understanding of campaign management and digital deployment tools
  • Solid marketing project management background
  • Knowledge of mortgage industry and mortgage brokering in Canada would be an asset
  • Knowledge of professional communications and marketing principles
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality on all sensitive matters
  • Enthusiastic, creative and experienced in working effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
