Finance Generalist


WHY DOES THIS POSITION EXIST IN CCO?

Catholic Christian Outreach is a young and dynamic Catholic movement dedicated to fulfilling the Church’s mission of evangelization on university campuses. The Finance and Properties Department plays a key role in establishing a strong foundation to support the fulfillment of this mission. The Finance Generalist is called to serve both internal and external users of CCO’s financial information and support our staff in their finance tasks and responsibilities.


WHAT DOES THIS POSITION DO FOR CCO?

  • Serves the mission of CCO through timely and accurate execution of donation management, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Ledger
  • Basic data entry and project work 
  • Perform account investigations and reconciliations
  • Assist in the management of donor records and donor relations 
  • Communicate with donors and employees via phone, email, mail or personally 
  • Actively participate in the mission of the New Evangelization and work toward the propagation of the Gospel. This includes taking the initiative to lead CCO faith studies, share the kerygma (through tools like the Ultimate Relationship booklet), and/or participation in the evangelization efforts of CCO.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

We’re looking for people with:

  • Bachelor degree in commerce or related field is an asset, but not required
  • Prior work experience in accounting, donor management, or finance is an asset, but not required 
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles 
  • Knowledge of CCO is an asset, but not required 
  • Knowledge of Blackbaud Financial Edge and Raiser’s Edge an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets 
  • Proficient in data entry and management 
  • Organization and prioritization 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Problem analysis and problem-solving skills 
  • Initiative and teamwork 
  • Confidentiality 
  • Communication skills (verbal and written)


IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • This position can be filled as a Responsibility Level 2 entry level position or as a Responsibility Level 3 position dependent upon the applicants qualifications and previous related work experience. The starting annual salary is minimum wage for Level 2 and $54,200.28 for Level 3, and are based on a 40 hour work week. Salaries increase with years of experience.
  • This position works in person at CCO's National Headquarters Office, located in Ottawa, Ontario Canada.
  • This position can be filled as a Responsibility Level 2 entry level position, or as a Responsibility Level 3 position depending upon the applicant's qualifications and previous related work experience. The starting wage for Level 2 is minimum wage and the starting salary for Level 3 is $4,516.69. Salaries are based on a 40 hour work week and increase with years of experience.
