Summary:

Better Living Health and Community Services is seeking a part-time Graphic and Web Design Coordinator. This role reports to the Manager, Communications, and works closely with the Graphic and Web Designer to support the development and execution of marketing and communication initiatives. The Coordinator will collaborate with Better Living staff across diverse projects, assisting with the planning, organization, and distribution of digital and print materials, and supporting the implementation and maintenance of company branding guidelines. This is a permanent part-time position, and entails working up to 35 hours per week.

The successful candidate for this position must possess the following qualifications:

  • University degree or college diploma in graphic design/development or related field from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Graphic and Web Designer or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of designing software including but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and InDesign).
  • Experience in working on MS Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Experience in creation of media for company’s social media platforms. Have knowledge about standardization guidelines over various platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc. and be proficient in producing social media cards, short videos, etc. Knowledge of social media platform (e.g., Hootsuite) an asset.
  • Experience in web design, development, and content management system.
  • Experience with developing and utilizing templates in marketing platforms like Mailchimp and Survey Monkey, etc.
  • Experience with the creation/revision of corporate brand standards.
  • Familiarity with the workflow/creative process in email and direct marketing campaigns.
  • Thorough understanding of page layout, typography, design theory and editorial design as well as the print and production process.

The successful candidate for this position must be able to:

  • Plan and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and to coordinate tasks involving different departments.
  • Showcase project management skills, i.e., allocating sufficient time and resources to projects to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Develop and maintain great interpersonal relations with various stakeholders such as department leads, coordinators, volunteers, agencies, and team members.
  • Design and develop a wide variety of high quality marketing materials for presentations, print, web, press releases, email and newsletter templates, print banners, displays, brochures, print ads and social media, while maintaining brand and message consistency.
  • Provide graphic design or communications support for fundraising events.
  • Manage and regularly update content for websites and social media channels with oversight provided from senior team members.
  • Track website statistics such as website traffic and conversion goals.
  • Maintain database of images and artwork.
  • Assist with occasional photography and storytelling.
