Legal Assistant/Law Clerk North York

Our client, an established and friendly law firm, located at Yonge & Sheppard is looking to add a Legal Assistant to its team. The Legal Assistant will be responsible for assisting lawyers with legal document preparation, managing communication, and providing administrative support in the areas of civil litigation and family law. Daily tasks may include drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, managing schedules, scheduling court dates, and handling client correspondence.
Qualifications
- One to five years experience working as a Legal Assistant/Law Clerk
- Knowledge in Law and experience as a Legal Assistant
- Skills in Legal Document Preparation and Administrative Assistance
- Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Knowledge and familiarity with law office software a)
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and learn new tasks
Assets
- Knowledge of and familiarity with the Family Law Rules, the Rules of Civil Procedure, and Provincial and Regional Court Practice Directions and Notices to the Profession
- Ability to file legal documents though the My Ontario Account court portal
- Knowledge of and familiarity with Divorcemate, Automated Civil Litigation LEAP and Case Center
