Job Summary:

This role is responsible for maintaining and installing company assets in good order to ensure business continuity and productivity, mainly relating to a Tetra Pak production line and canning line.  Work in conjunction with maintenance assistance to achieve department goals and assignments.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Participate in identifying root cause, troubleshooting and rectifying production and/or quality concerns

  • Maintain equipment and building as needed or work with outside contractors to ensure completion

  • Spare parts inventory control

  • Maintain Maintenance Logs and all other relevant record keeping

  • Changeover and setup equipment

Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Complete monthly inspections and preventative maintenance, documenting and leading the solutioning of concerns arising from inspections

Stock and receive equipment as needed. Assist in general housekeeping as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum Required:

  • Red Seal Millwright

  • Computer skills

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • General housekeeping skills

  • G class driver’s license

Preferred:

  • Red seal Millwright

  • 5 years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment

  • Welding experience – Tig, Mig and Stick

  • Electrical trouble shooting

  • Equipment changeovers and setups

  • ACZ driver’s license

  • First aid certificate

  • Forklift training

Working Conditions:

  • Willing to work specific shifts

  • Use of heavy tools

  • Ability to work with others

  • Potential exposure to dust, smoke, grease, oil, fumes, chemicals, or toxic substances

  • Climbing Ladders and awkward equipment

  • Exposure to loud noises

  • Working alone in building, department or work location

  • Regular requirement for bending, twisting or maintaining uncomfortable body positions while working

  • Working in places which are confined or difficult to access

  • Pay careful audio or visual attention to avoid or detect errors where stimuli are changing

  • Working in area where exposed to equipment/ machinery operation or traffic

  • Noticeable pressures for deadlines and accuracy

  • Exposed to poor weather conditions including weather extremes outside for prolonged periods

  • Need to accommodate work interruptions or distractions while performing tasks

  • Lifting or moving heavy objects

  • Exposure to unpleasant or noxious smells or fumes

Special Conditions:

  • Noticeable risk for accident or illness which cannot be eliminated from the job

COMPENSATION: Budgeted Range – ($37.60-$48.65/hr)

The budgeted range takes into account several factors and qualifications that are considered in making compensation decisions including experience, education, training, licenses, certifications, and other business and organizational requirements.
