Job Description:

Job Summary

The incumbent is a professional who coordinates the development and design of TSA promotional materials to spread awareness and assist the marketing and public relations teams. The incumbent assists in creating messaging strategies and marketing campaigns, may coordinate and maintain content of online and offline promotional resources, and manage the social media content across various channels.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the creation and distribution of creative marketing assets to enhance The Salvation Army’s public image across divisional and local levels.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining divisional relationships and sharing tools to boost awareness of the organization’s mission.
  • Draft and edit content for a variety of platforms, including articles, social media, websites, ad campaigns, reports, and video scripts.
  • Manage divisional social media accounts by posting regular updates, monitoring engagement, and responding to public queries.
  • Create and maintain a content calendar to align with key events (e.g., Donut Day, Giving Tuesday), ensuring timely and relevant social media activity.
  • Monitor analytics and produce monthly reports with both qualitative and quantitative insights for leadership.
  • Collaborate with other departments and ministry units on communication strategies and content planning.
  • Work with social media influencers and corporate partners to ensure consistent branding and messaging in campaigns.
  • Participate in event coverage and planning, providing social media and media production support, including audiovisual and webcast coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards, copyright laws, and proper documentation, including model and release forms, while supporting team projects through all stages.

Education and Experience Qualifications

  • Completion of a 2-to-3-year college diploma in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or other related discipline
  •  Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Alternative combination of education and Experience may be considered.
    Support the creation and distribution of creative marketing content across platforms, aligning with The Salvation Army’s mission and divisional strategies to enhance public engagement and brand recognition.
  • Draft and manage content for digital and print media including social media posts, articles, websites, videos, and reports, ensuring alignment with brand voice and messaging goals.
  • Oversee day-to-day social media operations: schedule posts, monitor engagement, respond to queries, and use KPIs to analyze and report on performance, including campaign and influencer impact.
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar around key events (e.g., Giving Tuesday), and provide real-time coverage of divisional events to drive visibility and engagement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and ministry units to plan and execute communication strategies, while managing reputational considerations and ensuring consistency in messaging.
  • Assist with media resource development, audiovisual production, webcast support, and liaise with event coordinators to plan and execute communications deliverables.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, copyright laws, and brand standards; ensure proper documentation such as model release forms is collected and archived.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding and support for The Salvation Army’s mission in Canada, applying this awareness to all communications and marketing efforts.
  • Exhibit strong communication, time management, and storytelling skills, with flexibility, creativity, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Compensation:

The target hiring range for this position is $44,685.33 to $55,856.66 with a maximum of $67,027.99.

Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
