Construction Project Coordinator


The Opportunity

Construction Project Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and successful completion of construction projects. They require excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with a thorough understanding of construction processes and regulations.

Please note that the location of this position is a mix of project site(s) offices and in-person office work.  Travel is required.


Responsibilities

  • Keep detailed records of all aspects of the project including meeting minutes, contracts, change orders, site instructions, permits and project schedules, essential to maintaining organization and compliance. Prepare monthly reports and Work in Progress (WIP) weekly meeting documents.
  • Frequently interact with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to discuss and review project objectives, progress, and expectations.
  • Update detailed project schedules and work plans.
  • Identify and coordinate resources required for project delivery tasks such as labour, equipment and material.
  • Manage procurement.
  • Ensure all team members, in particular the site team, have the necessary information and resources.
  • Schedule and facilitate regular project meetings, preparing agendas and documenting minutes.
  • Provide detailed and timely project updates to clients, management, and team members.
  • Prepare necessary presentation material and organize stakeholder meetings.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor progress & quality and ensure compliance with safety regulations.


About You

  • Proven track record of successfully coordinating construction projects.
  • Understands construction and project management processes and project delivery sequences. You know the drill.
  • You work to help the project and field teams run smoothly.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
  • You could teach a master class in organizational and time management skills.
  • A tech-savvy individual adept at navigating and utilizing various software applications efficiently.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in project coordination role.
  • Experience with construction project management software such as Procore and Jonas.
  • Degree or certificate in Construction Management, Project Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration or just worked your way up the ladder.
