Position Overview

Lauren Services is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for a secondment opportunity with one of our major clients, supporting LNG-related projects based in Surrey and Delta, BC.


This role requires a dynamic engineer with a strong technical foundation and facility experience who can manage project execution activities, lead multi-discipline coordination, and ensure project deliverables meet quality, cost, and schedule targets.
Candidates should have 10–15 years of total engineering experience, ideally with exposure to industrial facilities, Oil & Gas, and LNG processing projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support project delivery through engineering coordination, technical problem-solving, and project execution activities.
  • Provide facility-focused engineering support for LNG and processing-related projects.
  • Lead and coordinate the preparation of engineering deliverables including specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
  • Review and develop project drawings, including P&IDs, isometrics, and general arrangement drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, including ASME B31.3, CSA Z662, and relevant API standards.
  • Manage project scopes, budgets, and schedules, proactively identifying risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Provide technical input and field support during construction, commissioning, and start-up phases.
  • Interface with clients, contractors, and internal discipline teams to align on project objectives.
  • Assist with the development of procurement specifications for mechanical equipment and materials.
  • Support FEED, detailed design, and execution phases of facility projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Registered as a P.Eng with EGBC
  • 10–15 years of total engineering experience, including:
    • Minimum 3–5 years in a Project Engineer role.
    • Minimum 3–5 years of facility engineering experience in Oil & Gas or related sectors.
  • Solid background in EPCM or consulting environments.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3, CSA Z662, and applicable facility standards.
  • Experience working on LNG, natural gas processing, or industrial plant projects preferred.
  • Exposure to Hydrogen projects or major capital projects is considered an asset.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
