Job Description

RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
Under the supervision of the Talent Acquisition Advisor, the incumbent will collaborate closely with the Talent Acquisition team to support Principal Investigators and managers in the recruitment and hiring of qualified personnel to work on research projects and in administrative functions. The incumbent will support the Talent Acquisition team in ensuring high standard quality services to the research community and promoting recruitment and EDI best practices in the hiring process.

This summer job is offered as part of the Canada Summer Jobs program.


General Duties
• Assist researchers and hiring managers in reviewing and posting job offers,
• Sort and analyze received CVs,
• Help researchers build diversified teams by providing them with EDI resources and recruitment tools as well as collaborating with specific organizations,
• Promote recruitment best practices for our research community,
• Conduct phone interviews,
• Coordinate virtual interviews,
• Conduct pre-employment verifications including communicating with previous employers to validate professional references,
• Contribute to various HR projects and initiatives to improve processes and better support the research community,
• Perform any other task to help the human resources team.

Education / Experience

• Studies in Human Resources or Industrial Relations,
• Experience in administrative office work and/or within an HR division considered an asset,

Required Skills

• Bilingual French and English (spoken and written),
• Detail-oriented, autonomous,
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office,
• Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

Additional information

Status : Full-Time, Temporary (contract starting a soon as possible until August 29th, 2025)
Pay Scale: $21.00 to $26.36$/hour. Commensurate with education.
Work Shift: 35 hours, Monday to Friday
Work Site: Remote (may require occasional presence at the Downtown Montreal offices)

Eligibility criteria for the Canada Summer Jobs program:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period,
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment,
- have a valid SIN at the start of the employment.
