Position: Summer Student-  Administrative Assistant-Finance

Closing: Posting will remain opened until filled

Term: April 28, 2025- up to 16 weeks

Compensation:  $20.71 per hour

We are currently seeking a Summer Student- Administrative Assistant- Finance for our office located in Sudbury, Ontario.  Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Summer Student position will support the Finance team in various tasks throughout the Summer. This role will primarily support a vendor clean-up for OAHS as a continuous improvement effort, along with helping the team to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements.

Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following: 

·Supporting the OAHS mission and vision and making significant contributions to the achievement of the corporate strategic plan;

·Support the finance team with daily tasks, including data entry and document management;

·Assist in a project to update the vendor master database, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of vendor information;

·Support the revisions of SOPs by reviewing current SOPs and working with the Finance team to make updates/changes as required;

·Support the finance team in the preparation of general forms, letters, reports, presentations, and communications as require;

·Supporting ways to improve efficiency through the use of technology and updating or creating new ways to achieve this;

·Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

·Knowledge of and an appreciation of Indigenous culture and a values system that believes in holistic wellness and in assisting people to become and stay safely housed;

·Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a highly motivated, professional, and results-oriented team;

·Support OAHS’s mission and vision and make contributions to the achievement of the corporate strategic plan;

·Working towards a Diploma in a related field (Finance, accounting or related discipline) would be an asset;

·Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Power Point);

·Accuracy and attention to detail;

·Effective communication skills;

·Excellent oral and written communications skills;

The successful candidate will have the following Program Requirements:

·Is between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;

·Was registered as a full-time student in the current academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;

·Is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident; and;

·Is legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
