The person we're looking for

We’re seeking a Design Lead with a proven ability to lead UX projects, manage project scope, and drive results. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, strategic thinking, storytelling, and creative problem-solving skills. Additionally, experience in client and people management is essential for success in this role.


Job Overview

Some things you will be responsible for: 

  • Have a strong understanding of design foundations within user experience, interaction, and visual design
  • Establish and articulate the design strategy to the internal team, to ensure work is aligned with business goals
  • Have an expert understanding of the design methods used to support in the design process, and actively seek new methods to increase our efficiency and outputs
  • Lead the creation of prototypes
  • Lead the creation of documentation for developers 
  • Establish desired customer experience outcomes that are rooted in the user journey and resonate with a user's pain points
  • Develop creative solutions for challenges that have a broader business impact
  • Leverage data, research, and analytics to inform complex, high-impact decisions
  • Oversee regular client communications, ensuring design or research decisions are expressed clearly and effectively to clients
  • Navigate complex relationships and resolve conflicts with tact and emotional intelligence
  • Proactively develop or strengthen existing partnerships with our clients
  • Oversee project management activities
  • Identify opportunities within existing client relationships to expand our partnership
  • Socialize the scope of work to align stakeholders and team members on workstream goals and expectations

Requirements

  • Proven 5 years full-time industry experience as a UX designer, with at least 1 year in a people manager role
  • Portfolio we can access
  • Must have a minimum 3-hour overlap with Toronto EDT timezone
