Sick of commuting? Tired of “hybrid” jobs that are really “in office” jobs in disguise? If you’re more productive at home than in an office, and want to make that arrangement permanent, we may have the position you’re after.
On the other hand, if you’re not looking for a social group and just want to do great work, then you may be exactly what we’re looking for. We don’t care where you work and we won’t be looking over your shoulder micromanaging you. You’ll have minimal meetings disrupting your week, and plenty of time to focus on doing the best job possible. We’re growing, but not so quickly that things are chaotic.
As part of that growth, we’ve got an opening for a Visual Designer.
The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in the skills outlined below, is a self-learner with a great work ethic, and has a keen interest in communicating through visual design.
This isn’t a big company with layers of bureaucracy and committees for every decision. It’s also not an agency where you’ll get crushed by client demands and deadlines. Our business is established and stable, but still small enough that we can move quickly. If you fit the profile below, send us your résumé and a link to your portfolio and let’s talk.
About You
Your typical week
Reporting to the Creative Manager, you will also work with managers of Marketing and Platform Development, designing marketing materials and website elements to promote both our online driver training system and our best employer program. You will also work with our Content team on page design, layout and interactivity for specific courses relating to regulatory changes, human resource topics and other task-specific skills for the transportation industry.
You will be responsible for communicating with the team and creating visual deliverables that meet the requirements of the Marketing, Platform and Content teams as prioritized by the Creative Manager.
In a normal week, you will spend time on gathering requirements from the other teams on specific deliverables, creating design ideas, reviewing your work with the Creative Manager, and finalizing the designs into the finished product. These products will include UI/UX design for the CarriersEdge product, brochure and ebook design, website components and eLearning course graphics.
As part of a remote team, you will connect with team members across the company through Slack, email, and Zoom. You’ll track your activities through our online project management system and submit weekly timesheets.
